Norfolk Family YMCA's

We've been around for a long time, so it's easy to take the YMCA's impact on our community for granted. As a locally based nonprofit organization, our number one priority is to serve this community. So every tax-deductible dollar you donate directly affects all of us in the best possible way: through before & after school care, swim lessons, health & wellness for seniors, diabetes prevention, summer camps, teen leadership, family activities, and scholarships to ensure our doors are always open for those most in need. The Y is us. You, me, your family, your neighbors, your coworkers, your children's schoolmates. Together, we can laugh, learn, sweat, swim, socialize, find the support we need and share that support with others in need. And it works, because we do it together.

Compassion Advocacy Network, Inc., (CAN) is a public charity founded to provide compassion and advocacy to disadvantaged and at-risk populations. We achieve our mission through charitable and educational programs for needy residents of nursing homes, children with an absentee parent, needy families who live in tough neighborhoods, kids with brain tumors, kids suspended from school and adult parolees serious about turning their lives around. Our focus areas are:
  • Provide mentoring and alternative to suspension education programs that support local school districts.
  • Educate children on real life issues to increase their chances for success.
  • Address needs such as hunger and homelessness.
  • Support for children with brain cancer helps kids to experience the great joys of the world as a patient or survivor.
  • Help residents of nursing homes to be treated with dignity and have a better quality of life.
  • To assist select parolees in finding housing, education and employment to once again become productive citizens.
  • Form partnerships with businesses, organizations and individuals whose community minded goals align with the mission of CAN.
Achieving this kind of success requires vision, adaptability, and sensitivity to people’s needs, innovative thinking, and community responsiveness. Compassion for suffering people demands no less. Please, donate at www.wecannetwork.org today. Your investment will return immeasurable results.
